Orleans Parish Flood Insurance Workshop for Homeowners

Orleans Parish has partnered with FEMA to hold a Flood Insurance Workshop in your area. The proposed Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Orleans Parish are finalized and will become the effective maps on September 30, 2016. Residents and property owners are encouraged to attend to gain a better understanding of how the new maps will impact them. In many areas of the Parish, risk is reduced, but not removed. Property owners will learn where they can view the maps and options to discuss with their insurance agent about protecting their home. Changes in the National Flood Insurance Program will be shared to help property owners make informed decisions.

Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the Workshop.

There is no charge for these workshops and residents are encouraged to share information about this event with neighbors, family members and friends. Space is limited, so everyone needs to register to attend.
